The bureau of health of Guiyang recently signed a strategic framework agreement with the World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies, or WFCMS, to partner up on the development of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), according to local media reports.
The bureau of Guiyang -- capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province -- signed the agreement on Dec 3.
Under the agreement, the two sides will make full use of their respective expertise and resources to liaise and work together in TCM-related fields. They will jointly improve the level of services of Guiyang's big health industry, raise its profile and promote the development of TCM in the city.
Specific areas of cooperation include the development of TCM health tourism and mountain health tourism, TCM theory and technology training.
Projects to develop TCM health tourism and mountain health tourism will mainly take advantage of Guiyang's natural environment, culture and history, as well as its TCM resources. In particular, they will make use of local mountain tourism resources and integrate the ventures with local ethnic medicine.
The partners will also select new centers for this initiative and develop products for the new TCM health tourism and mountain health tourism facilities.
They will design tourism routes for different groups and promote Guiyang health tourism and international projects through the WFCMS's international and domestic conference platform.
This will create a leading international brand for the big health industry with Guiyang's own attributes.
