The Qihuang Scholars Summit Forum was held in Guiyang, the capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province, on April 24, aiming to promote innovation and development of the traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) industry and further enhance the service capabilities of TCM.

Nearly 350 people, including TCM experts, scholars, practitioners and students participated in the forum.

Six Qihuang scholars engaged in the gynecology, tumor, endocrinology and cardio-cerebrovascular fields gave keynote reports at the event and exchanged views with participating clinicians.

Qihuang scholars are national high-level talents who promote the inheritance and development of TCM. They have made significant achievements in TCM clinical practice, basic theories and application research, and are professional and technical personnel enjoying high academic influence both domestically and overseas.

At the forum, experts and scholars shared theories and practical experience, and exchanged ideas on how to give further play to TCM in clinical practice.

Liang Xianquan, director of the Guiyang Bureau of Health, said that Guiyang has established a studio for Qihuang scholars, inviting them to provide medical services. He said it aims to innovate the training mechanism of TCM talents, gather all kinds of TCM technologies and boost the high-quality development of TCM in Guizhou and Guiyang.
