Guiyang celebrates International Nurses Day

The health system of Guiyang, the capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province, held a variety of activities to celebrate International Nurses Day, which fell on May 12, to pay tribute to all nurses.

Celebrations were conveyed on 361 LED screens and 156 publicity boards in medical institutions at the municipal, county and township levels. More than 200 publicity slogans were used to mark the event.

On May 12, Guiyang Public Health Clinical Center held a commendation meeting for nurses and a walking activity, while the Second People's Hospital of Guiyang held a knowledge contest and a commendation conference. Also, the Guiyang Hospital of Stomatology held a nursing skills competition.

Health institutions at the district and county levels also organized various celebrations, including Party history education activities and a sports meeting, among others, to celebrate the day and encourage nurses to improve themselves and provide better-quality nursing services for patients.
