An expert workstation for Zhang Wenhong was inaugurated on June 9 at the Guiyang Public Health Clinical Center's Xiaba branch in Guiyang, the capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province.
It is among the first batch of 15 expert workstations in Guiyang and its cooperative expert is Zhang Wenhong, director of the National Center for Infectious Diseases and the director of the Department of Infectious Diseases of Huashan Hospital affiliated to Fudan University.
He has long been engaged in the clinical diagnosis, treatment, prevention and control of infectious diseases and his team enjoys a good international reputation.
Since May 2019, Zhang's team has established cooperation with Guiyang on clinical research of multi-drug resistant tuberculosis, laying a solid foundation for the establishment of the expert workstation.
The establishment of the workstation will help to improve the clinical business and scientific research level of the city's public health center. It will give strong intellectual support for the center and Guizhou province in personnel training, advancement in medical technology and key scientific research projects, and the transformation of scientific and technological achievements, according to officials.
The center will partner with the workstation on technological improvement, talent training and scientific research innovation, among others, to enhance service capabilities, officials said.
