In an effort to overcome problems restricting the high-quality development of the health sector in the city of Guiyang, Guiyang bureau of health has conducted surveys on key health work and sorted out 24 major work items in six categories.

Three of the six categories are making medical treatment more convenient, vaccination, and the promotion of high-quality health care resources at low-level medical institutions.

The bureau has launched free medical consulting activities by sending experts from local medical institutions to offer services in local sub-districts, villages, and schools.

The team has held more than 20 free medical consultation events, providing local people with 12,000 consultations, diagnoses, and treatments for chronic and common diseases.

In addition, public hospitals in Guiyang have set up volunteer posts in their outpatient (emergency) lobbies, outpatient areas, and clinical windows to provide consultation services and assistance for patients.

So far, volunteers at the hospitals have served people over 20,000 times, helping optimize procedures for people receiving treatment and reducing queuing time.

In addition, the Guiyang bureau of health has strengthened prevention and control measures against COVID-19.

The Guiyang Municipal Center for Disease Control and Prevention has opened a 24-hour hotline for urgent questions related to nucleic acid testing and vaccination. The hotline has so far served more than 10,000 people from all over China.

Disease control and medical institutions have been urged by the bureau to offer free vaccinations against the virus, with 1.67 million people having received around 5.24 million vaccination shots.

The bureau plans to continue working to improve public health services.
