The Guiyang bureau of health has conducted many investigations and face-to-face meetings with residents in the city of Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, and directed high-quality medical resources to grassroots communities to help solve the medical, health, and rehabilitation problems of locals.

The bureau held a meeting on the three-sense communities medical and health project on Aug 6, which was aimed at giving residents a greater sense of gain, happiness, and security to meet their ever-growing desire for a better life.

At the meeting, it was clearly requested that pilot communities be divided into several areas, and that pilot primary medical institutions sign service agreements with residents near the pilot communities and conduct health management targeting them.

Each pilot primary medical institution must arrange a family doctor team composed of one community general practitioner, one public health doctor, and one nurse to provide residents in each divided area of the pilot communities with health management, diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation, and healthcare services.

Based on this, pilot primary medical institutions will be requested to sign cooperation agreements with relevant second and third-level public hospitals to bring more high-quality medical resources to grassroots communities, provide residents with common, frequently-occurring, and chronic diseases with Chinese and Western medicine diagnosis and treatment, rational drug use guidance, and health consultation and rehabilitation training services, as well as open green channels for patients who must visit the public hospitals for specialized treatment.

In addition, the bureau will encourage grassroots medical institutions to set up personalized family doctor service packages and formulate personalized health care service projects to continuously meet residents' multi-level, diversified medical and health service needs.

Under the guidance of the bureau, health bureaus of county, county-level cities and districts, second and third-level public hospitals, communities, and sub-districts, pilot medical institutions in Guiyang have already established a collaborative mechanism, and have taken measures to allow more residents enjoy and recognize primary medical and health services.
