The Guiyang Health Bureau released a list of 78 problems it has solved this year for residents of Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, on Nov 11, with the aim of improving their experiences in receiving medical treatment and resolving difficulties such as complicated hospital registration and long wait times.

The bureau asked local public hospitals to take measures such as developing applets, launching online registration systems, offering self-service clinical payment services, and simplifying medical test procedures to make medical payment more convenient and shorten wait times for patients.

The bureau also continued to improve its senior healthcare services and infant care services.

It has established 17 provincial-level demonstration organizations for the combination of medical services and elderly care services, and piloted the combination of medical services and elderly care services at two grassroots medical institutions, intelligent elderly care services in three organizations and end-of-life care services in four organizations.

Eighteen childcare institutions capable of housing 1,381 children have been registered.

The Guiyang Health Bureau has also continued to improve vocational health services by establishing a strong occupational disease prevention and control mechanism.

A general investigation on occupational diseases has been launched among 6,770 enterprises, and follow-up visits to patients with occupation diseases, such as 1,880 local pneumoconiosis patients, have been launched.

The bureau has also been working to build public community healthcare centers to improve grassroots healthcare services, making it possible for residents to receive medical services within fifteen minutes.
