Guiyang holds winter COVID-19 drill

A COVID-19 emergency drill was held at the Guiyang Public Health Clinical Center on Dec 31 in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province.

The drill was sponsored by the Guiyang municipal government and organized by Guiyang bureau of health, public security bureau and the government of the city's Yunyan district. 

The drill was meant to prepare people for complex situations related to COVID-19 and people returning to the city during the Spring Festival holiday from Jan 31 to Feb 6, as well as to prevent sudden outbreaks.

The drill focused on epidemic detection, epidemic reporting, emergency response, command and coordination, personal protection, case investigation, sample collection, sterilization and disposal, medical rescue, infected case transfer, close contact investigation, material security, and nucleic acid testing.

The drill tested the city's epidemiological investigation capabilities, key personnel management, large-scale nucleic acid testing, key site management, and community prevention and control.
