Big data eases access to Guiyang's quality medical services

Guiyang city, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, has further integrated its big data and medical care in recent years, bringing far more convenience to local residents. 

The city has promoted its health and medical big data management system, unblocking medical services channels and enabling more people to share quality medical resources. 

At the end of 2017, all public hospitals across the city had completed the installation of a telemedicine network system. This has transferred premium medical resources to grassroots medical institutions and remote areas with poor traffic.

The initiative has also alleviated the shortage of cutting-edge medical personnel and high-end medical equipment there, while helping with the interconnection of medical data. 

Taking advantage of the local big data industry, Guiyang has boosted its healthcare sector and upgraded its medical services.

By strengthening the application of big data in the health sector, it has accelerated the establishment and improvement of the intelligent medical service system. Moreover, the city has developed various health care services including medical information inquiries, electronic health files and telemedicine. 

In late December 2020, the Guiyang Internet Hospital began its trial operation, providing residents with online medical services such as appointment registrations, video follow-ups of visits, electronic prescriptions and drug deliveries.

As a result, through the integration of convenient internet services, big data and artificial intelligence, Guiyang has enabled residents to enjoy nearby quality medical services and improved their overall medical experience. 

Plans are for Guiyang to continue to promote the gathering, integration and sharing of medical data, apply bid data technologies to health industry regulation, clinical scientific research and public health, with the aim of exploring new paths for comprehensive health reform and innovation.
