Guiyang starts new round of lottery for HPV vaccine reservations

Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, recently started a new lottery system for 9-valent human papilloma virus (HPV) vaccine reservations.

All local girls aged 16-26.5 can apply to participate, and can be vaccinated once they successfully make the reservations.

The HPV vaccine is currently the only vaccine that can effectively prevent cervical cancer.

HPV transmission routes

The source of HPV infection is patients and those who carry the virus. The main route of transmission is sexual contact. Sharing bathtubs and towels with others can also cause indirect transmission.

Because of limited supplies and the vaccination age limit, the vaccines you have access to are the best choices for now. Do not wait for the target vaccine too long and expose yourself to the risk of infection. 

The 2-valent vaccine can effectively prevent cervical cancer; the 4-valent vaccine can prevent both genital warts and cervical cancer; if you want the most complete protection possible, the 9-valent HPV vaccine is recommended.
