A delegation of senior government officials recently surveyed county-level medical service communities in the Guizhou province in Southwest China.
The officials, including Liang Xianquan, director of the Guiyang Bureau of Health, journeyed to Changshun county in the Qiannan Bouyei and Miao autonomous prefecture and to Kaiyang county, administered by Guiyang, capital of Guizhou province, on July 20-21.
The delegation visited the Central Health Center of Baiyunshan town, the Weiyuan Community Health Service Center and Changshun Central Hospital in Changshun county. There the delegates learned about the county's advanced experiences in county-level medical service community management, disease prevention and treatment, reforms of medical insurance payment methods and personnel and their salaries.
In Longgang township's Health Center, Xicheng Community Health Service Center and Kaiyang People's Hospital, the delegation conducted a survey on the operations and service capabilities of the facilities.
Guiyang Bureau of Health director Liang then made suggestions for the next stages of work.
He said that the construction of the medical service community in Kaiyang should integrate resources, optimize allocations and improve the overall service capability of county-level medical services.
By promoting the construction of the county-level medical service community, Kaiyang is expected to continue to improve its primary medical service capabilities. It is also projected to build a high-quality and an efficient integrated medical and health service system, to ensure that residents enjoy better and more equitable access to basic medical and health services.
