The Guiyang Bureau of Health has focused on medical and health personnel team building in recent years to promote health services and meet the health needs of people in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province.
Open channels for attracting medical talent
Since December 2021, the bureau has made full use of various platforms to carry out talent recruitment activities.
So far, it has held three seminars on the employment and entrepreneurship of graduates in 2022 together with Bijie Medical College and Guizhou Vocational College of Industry and Trade, and helped schools carry out job development activities in districts and counties in the city.
It has arranged for 86 companies, hospitals and institutes to hold a job promotion and job fair at the two colleges.
As of Aug 8, 734 graduates of 2022 were employed in the medical and health sector in Guiyang.
Build strong grassroots medical teams
The bureau has promoted the movement of medical personnel within county-level medical service communities to improve technical capabilities and services at primary medical institutions.
In 2020, 42 township health centers and 47 community health service centers in Guiyang together established 15 medical service communities.
Last year, the bureau promoted the establishment of a close medical alliance among the Guizhou Provincial People's Hospital, People's Hospital of Nanming District, Second People's Hospital of Guiyang and four township health centers in Guanshanhu district.
In addition, Guiyang has established eight community doctoral workstations. The doctoral teams go to community health service centers to provide medical and health services for people in the communities.
All members of the community doctoral workstations have participated in the contract service of family doctors, which has improved community health services.
Improve high-end talent training mechanism
The bureau has attracted medical and health professionals and important technical and urgently needed talent.
Relying on municipal public hospitals and county-level public hospitals, it has established a high-level health talent pool, cultivated medical discipline leaders, and improved the high-end talent training mechanism.
In addition, the bureau has optimized its service system. The First People's Hospital and Second People's Hospital of Guiyang have been designated as medical institutions for high-level talent, providing one-to-one medical guidance services and free medical consultations, diagnosis and check-ups.
It has also adjusted the salary levels at public hospitals to stimulate enthusiasm among medical staff members.
So far, 10,789 employees work in the medical and healthcare sector in the city, including 67 with doctor's degree and 980 with master's degrees.
