The Guiyang Bureau of Health in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, recently selected Guiyang First People's Hospital (Longdongbao district) to provide special emergency medical services for special populations amid the new wave of COVID-19.

At 9 am on Sept 16, the hospital began accepting residents in high-risk areas, medium-risk areas, and centralized isolation sites who were assigned red and yellow health codes with negative nucleic acid tests.

The hospital provides emergency medical services such as hemodialysis, tumor radiotherapy and chemotherapy, and maternal delivery.

If such people have urgent medical needs, they can contact the isolation sites or village committees where they are located and make appointments, and the isolation sites or community staff members will transfer them to the hospital using special vehicles.

Patients in critical condition can directly call the emergency number 120, and the 120 emergency center will contact the hospital according to the type of patient and inform hospital personnel of the patient's detailed information.

After diagnosis and treatment, patients will be transported back in special vehicles arranged by the isolation sites or village committees, and closed-loop management will be implemented throughout the process.
