Guiyang health authority enhances grassroots medical services

The Guiyang Bureau of Health has been making efforts to promote more convenient, safer, and higher-quality community health services since 2021, so that local community residents can enjoy comprehensive health care and medical services within a 15-minute walk. 

The bureau has advanced the development of 15-minute health and medical service circles in the city's 140 living circles, with the aim of improving access to medical treatment, disease prevention and health care. 

It has developed a community health service model by establishing a linkage mechanism between community health service centers and third-grade hospitals, and developed a family doctor signing service model in community health service centers by encouraging specialists from third-grade hospitals to participate in community family doctor services and reducing problems in seeking medical services at large hospitals. 

Prescription authority and authorization for hypertension and diabetes have been given to primary medical and health institutions to better serve local residents in communities. 

As of August 2022, the city has built 102 community health service centers and 59 community health service stations, of which 96 have completed standardized construction. 

Next, the bureau will further the construction of community health service centers and stations, upgrade existing community medical and health institutions, and introduce more quality medical resources to primary medical and health institutions.
