With the adjustment of epidemic prevention and control measures, hospitals in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, have expanded emergency aid resources, opened green channels, and increased the number of hospital beds in response to increasing public demand.
The treatment of patients infected with COVID-19 has attracted much attention. The Second People's Hospital of Guiyang has been able to receive about 2,800 outpatient emergency patients per day due to preparations made by the hospital.
To reduce the wait times, the hospital has standardized the setting of pre-examination triage areas, waiting areas and treatment areas to better guide patients to seek treatment. It has also increased the number of consultation rooms.
Since mid-December, People's Hospital in Xiuwen County has been integrating resources and expanded the number of beds in the hospital from the original 448 to 568. Faced with the complex medical situation, a medical treatment plan for patients infected with COVID-19 epidemic has been formulated. Patients with serious underlying diseases are mainly admitted to specialists, while critically ill patients are admitted to respiratory, infectious diseases and intensive care medicine departments.
