The Guiyang Bureau of Health in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, has sent medical workers to rural areas to promote healthcare information and donate healthcare kits, Guiyang Daily reported.
On Jan 10, residents of Shangshui village in Baiyun district of Guiyang were lining up to receive services from medical and health volunteers organized by the bureau.
Zhang Yan, a doctor with 18 years of experience in curing gynecological diseases, taught residents about health and provided health services to women. "Caring for women's health and protecting women's fertility are the main purposes of our services," said Zhang.
The bureau also worked with Guiyang Stomatological Hospital to provide volunteer services to villagers. "The activity is mainly intended to improve awareness of oral health among villagers, explain how to improve oral health, and provide them with free clinical services," said Wu Juanjuan, a doctor of the hospital.
