The flag presenting ceremony for the second Chinese medical assistance team to be sent to the Solomon Islands was held at the Affiliated Hospital of Guizhou Medical University on March 16.
At the ceremony, Dong Jialu, deputy governor of Guizhou province, presented the team flag to the medical assistance team, and the team members took an oath.
The eight members of the medical team are from the clinical laboratory center, cardiovascular department, urology department, nephrology department, acupuncture department and administrative department of Guizhou Medical University and its affiliated hospital.
The team will spend one year in the Solomon Islands providing medical assistance.
Zhou Jian, member of the Party committee of International Health Exchange and Cooperation Center of National Health Committee, said at the ceremony that the first Chinese medical assistance team was widely welcomed and praised in the Solomon Islands.
Zhou said he hopes that the second medical assistance team carries forward the Chinese medical assistance team's spirit of fearlessness, sacrifice, healing the wounded and rescuing the dying, and boundless love.
Yang Hui, secretary of the leading Party members group of Guizhou Provincial Health Commission, said he hopes the medical assistance team adheres to the spirit of foreign aid, fulfills its mission, promotes the spirit of Chinese medical teams, and strives to build a community of health for humankind.
