The Department of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine (PCCM) at General Hospital of Wudang Medical Community in Wudang district in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, was recently recognized as a national sentinel hospital of respiratory medical quality control and management.
A sentinel hospital refers to a hospital that monitors, controls and treats epidemic or chronic diseases, so as to identify trends of emerging variants and catch new strains in a timely manner.
The PCCM Division at General Hospital of Wudang Medical Community consists of a professional medical group that specializes in respiratory diseases, pulmonary tumors, bronchial asthma, and pulmonary vascular diseases. Additionally, they have professional respiratory therapists and rehabilitation physicians on staff, as well as complete and advanced medical facilities.
According to Yu Hao, head of General Hospital of Wudang Medical Community, the hospital will continue to improve its services so as to benefit residents in Wudang and its surrounding areas.
